Christopher Peacock Designs His Own Kitchen

Christopher Peacock is a British-born designer and founded his upscale cabinet design business 18 years ago. Since then, he has installed thousands of six-figured kitchens here and abroad. He, his wife, and three boys moved into their new Colonial house in Greenwich, Conneticut in 2005. His first project, of course, was to change out the kitchen. While his exsisting kitchen was fine, it was too dark for his liking and he opted to change it to white. He is known to have been the designer to introduce us to the iconic white kitchen which is inspired by the 19th and 20th century British versions.

Christopher and his wife, Jayne, worked closely with Sophie Thibon, a New York interior designer. Sophie created a comfortable family room with slipcovered sofas and white draperies. She took into consideration that the Peacock's boys are frequently entertaining friends, so she chose denim fabrics that are easy to clean and durable.

"We basically live in those two rooms," Christopher says. "We designed the spaces so there is a nice flow between the rooms and access to the back deck from the family room."
